32 Lake Shore. Russell A. Alger Jr. House. Grosse Pointe War Memorial. Built in 1910 for Russell A. Alger, Jr., a Packard Motor Car Company founder. Designed by Charles A. Platt in Italian Renaissance style with extensive gardens. Called "The Moorings." Following Alger's death it was a branch of the Detroit Institute of Arts (1936-1948) before becoming a community center.
