Second Saturdays
  • On the Second Saturday of each month, you are invited to drop in between 1 and 4pm at 376 Kercheval to tour the 1823 Provencal-Weir house. The tour is free of charge but donations are appreciated. Weekday tours are available and require at least 48 hours notice.

  • Be sure to visit La Belle's Country Store. The Grosse Pointe Historical Society's Country Store is located in the Provencal-Weir House at 376 Kercheval in Grosse Pointe Farms. The shop is open Second Saturdays from 1 - 4pm and by appointment. Call 313-884-7010 for more information.

  • Blue Star Museums Pass Holders are welcome and admitted to the 1823 Provencal-Weir house between 1-4pm on these dates: Saturday June 8, Saturday, July 13 and Saturday, August 10

Izzy's Second Saturdays

All Saturday events will take place from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Provencal-Weir House, 376 Kercheval. Cost is $20.00 per session for members, $25.00 for non-members. Reservations must be made by the Thursday before each event. Ask for Izzy at 313-884-7010

September 10, 2016 Come welcome September and make mini Michigan apple pies with Granny Smith apples and fresh ingredients. They will be dee-lish! This project is for ages 7 yrs. and older.
October 8, 2016 Decorate your house with Halloween tea lights made with polymer clay. Make ghosts, Jack-O-Lanterns and/or Frankenstein. They will look boo-tiful in your house! This project is for ages 7 yrs. and older.
November 12, 2016 Welcome family and guests with a festive turkey door wreath for Thanksgiving. Tulle will be cut and tied around the ring and a small turkey will be put together for the cutest wreath on your block. This project is for ages 7 yrs. and older.
December 10, 2016 Bring in the Christmas spirit by making your own Angel for the tree top. Cardboard cones will be used for the base, a wooden ball for the head and fabric to cut and decorate. This project is for ages 7 yrs. and older.
January 14, 2017 Pass the chilly winter days with your own home made snow globe. Snowmen will be made with polymer clay, glued and, of course sparkly snow will be used! Water and glycerin are added for the final touch. This project is for ages 7 yrs. and older.
February 11, 2017 Enjoy celebrating Valentine’s Day by dipping strawberries into white melted candy and adding valentine’s sprinkles for a delicious treat. The extras will be brought home. This project is for ages 7 yrs. and older.
March 11, 2017 his year’s annual “Sew and Stuff” project will welcome an early spring. Our Michigan State Bird, the Robin will be done using felt, fleece, needle and thread and cotton stuffing. Modest sewing skill is preferred. This project is for ages 7 yrs. and older.
April 8, 2017 April Showers Bring May Flowers continues this year. Decorate a watering can with white contact paper designed with permanent markers to create your own floral decals. Cut them and put them on the container for the most individually decorated watering can in town! Cutting with scissors will be necessary. This project is for ages 7 yrs. and older.
May 13, 2017 April Showers Bring May Flowers will be completed with creating your own flower pots. Glue on glass beads to the flower pot and then fill them with dirt and plant a flower. Flowers in season will be used! This project is for ages 7 yrs. and older.
