Endowment for the Grosse Pointe Historical Society
at Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan

For more than 70 years, the Grosse Pointe Historical Society has brought local history to life, through its collections, programs, activities and publications. Your generous gift to the Endowment for the Grosse Pointe Historical Society at the Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan can ensure that the history of Grosse Pointe lives on in the hearts of generations to come.

The Grosse Pointe Historical Society recently created a permanent endowment fund at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, www.cfsem.org.

The Community Foundation is dedicated to helping nonprofit partners grow endowment assets. Endowment provides a source of ongoing support and helps ensure stability in uncertain times. An endowment also provides a place where donors can establish lasting legacies with their support.

Any donor can include the Community Foundation in his or her estate plan or as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement plan by simply designating: "I give ______ to the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan for the benefit of the Grosse Pointe Historical Society Endowment Fund." He or she may fill in the blank with a specific dollar amount or a percentage of the estate.

A donation of appreciated stock from an investment portfolio is an especially powerful gift. It can offer greater tax benefits for the donor, while providing the full fairmarket-value of the stock to the recipient organization.
